Collection Information
- Descripton: Books: 18,000, Serials: 300, Microform: 30,000, Other: 1,000 videotapes, 300 CD-ROMs. The collection is primarily intended to meet the needs of Mn/DOT staff and faculty, staff and students affiliated with the University of Minnesota's Center for Transportation Studies. The library also serves Minnesota's local transportation officials as part of the Minnesota LTAP. The library attempts to collect all Mn/DOT, AASHTO, TRB, and University of Minnesota Center for Transportation Studies publications and selected publications of other state and local transportation agencies, the U.S. DOT and transportation-related professional associations and organizations.
- Subject Strengths: Mn/DOT Library's collection covers all aspects of transportation. It is strongest in highway engineering and design and has a developing collection on intelligent transportation infrastructure. Secondary strengths include public administration, computer applications, and office management.
- Special Collections: Standards and specifications of all state DOT's; Transportation-related reports issued by the National Technical Information Service
- Conditions: Reference and other assistance provided only on transportation issues and as time permits. Photocopies for public limited to 25 pages from library resources.
