NTKN: National Transportation Knowledge Network activity

A teleconference was held Feb. 24 and 27, 2012 by Amanda Wilson, Director of the National Transportation Library, concerning NTKN topics. Attendees were: Amanda Wilson (NTL); Maggie Sacco (Pooled Fund); Janet Coles (WTKN Chair); Lynn Matis (ETKN Chair); Karen Perrin (MTKN Co-Chair); and Leni Oman (AASHTO RAC TKN Task Force). 

Various topics discussed including:

-- upcoming TRB Workshop in CA in July "Collaboration in Sharing Transportation Information", will be attended by Amanda Wilson, Kendra Levine, Maggie Sacco from the TKN community and others from research, data, IT communities, etc.

-- NTKN meeting following SLA in July

-- schedule of regular meetings of this group to increase collaboration and communication among the regional TKNs and interested parties, including NTL

-- NTKN refinement of strategic guidance documents, hope is to complete a summary strategic vision document and an updated "working plan" document for achievable tasks and projects

-- logo examples were provided

Would be good to follow up on a discussion of what MTKN hopes to see from an NTKN leadership from the NTL. Any aspect of this discussion is welcome here, but please provide some input / feedback on the logos as well as potential tasks or projects you would find useful or provide strategic vision statements which should be included in an NTKN document
